Bakra is one of the best spots in Diocletian's Palace, Split. Croatian coastal food is Mediterranean at its purest — fresh fish, olive oil, and wine from the hillside above.
💡 Tips before you go
- Croatia uses euros now — no need to exchange kuna
- Peka (meat/seafood under a bell) must be ordered hours in advance — call ahead
- Fish is priced by kilo — ask for the price before ordering
- Local wines (Plavac Mali red, Pošip white) are excellent and cheap by the glass
